The patient came 31-January-2004 complaining of LBP with right
sciatica for 1 month. She was bedridden the last 18 days. MRI
performed 12-January-2004 showed huge extrusion with right
downward migration at the level of L4-5. She was limping with
exaggerated scoliotic stance with almost drop right foot. SLRS
right side was 45 degrees with shooting pain. The patient
underwent right L4-5 hemiflavotomy with foraminotomy of the
right L5 root. The extrusion was removed from under the axilla.
Meticulous cleaning of the disc space was performed and root became
free. Routine closure of the wound.
Improvement of the power and the patient was discharged the next
day. |
