37 YEARS EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.

Anamnesis
The
patient came
to the clinic 31-March-2010 complaining of neck
pain
for 45 days with right upper limb pain. The last
week got deterioration with numbness of the
index right hand
MRI cervical spine
performed 28-March-2010 showing extruded disc
C6-7 with right foraminal occlusion.
On examination: the
patient has the neck tilted to right with
pain and limitation of movement when looking
down. There is weak grip and extension right
hand 4/5 and triceps right 3/5.
Using image-intensifier, the
level was identified and discectomy of C6-7 was
performed. After that the extruded disc to the
right foramen was removed.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative
recovery, with
full recovery of the
power of right upper limb.
Comments
When the disc space is low in
height and one level, there is no need to use
cage or other devices to replace the disc space.
Removal of the extrusion to
the foramen is the integral part of the
operation.
Notice: Not all operative activities
can be recorded due to lack of time.
Notice: Head injuries and very urgent surgeries are also
