21-AUGUST-2008 AHMAD ODEH AL-LAWI 75 YEARS
LUMBAR CANAL STENOSIS L2-3, L3-4 AND L4-5 WITH LEFT LATERAL RECESS SYNDROME.
Anamnesis:
The patient came to the
clinic 18-August-2008 complaining of bilateral
sciatica with LBP for three months .
The patient using crutches,
limping with exaggerated scoliotic stance. SLRS
was 75 degrees in the right with pain. The power
of both feet is decreased: planterflexion both
feet 4/5. Dorsiflexion left -3/5 and 3/5 in the
right. The patient has severe OA both knees with
pain left knee and inability to flex the left
knee.
MRI performed recently
showing lumbar canal stenosis of L2-3, 3-4 and
L4-5 with lateral recess syndrome more the left.
Decompressive Laminectomy of
L3-4 and partial of L2 and L5 was performed.
Foraminotomy of left L4 and L5 roots was
performed.
Routine closure of the wound
and smooth postoperative recovery.
Comments
The patient has lumbar canal
stenosis, which is a progressive one. Surgery is
the only solution in such a case.
