The patient had LBP for 2 years.
Left sciatica for 7 months. MRI performed 01-August-2005 showing
huge extrusion of L5-S1 with left downward migration. On
examination, she had hypalgesia of left L5 root territory with weak
dorsiflexion right foot?. The patient was operated and left L5-S1
hemiflavotomy with left S1 foraminotomy was performed. The extruded
disc was adherent with the swollen root. It was removed and a good
ample for the canal was achieved. The root remained swollen and it
was meticulously checked for another pathology, or presence of
intraradicular mass. Findings were negative. Further cleaning of the
disc space was performed.
