The patient is a young married female started to have convulsions the last 7 months during pregnancy. The last 10 days prior to surgery got status epilepticus for what tegretol 200 mg three times a day was started. MRI performed and showed a giant right lesser wing meningioma. The patient was operated through extended right pterional approach and radical resection of the tumor was achieved. The only neurologic deficit was right anosmia.
She came 11-September 2004 with new MRI performed 19-July-2004 demonstrating radical disappearance of the mass with no convulsions and the olfaction of the right side recovered. She was advised to continue in tegretol for another 2 years and to repeat MRI at that time.
