EXTRUDED DISC C4-5 WITH RIGHT UPWARD MIGRATION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 06-January-2018
complaining of neck pain for 3 years after
motor-bike accident. He was treated
conservatively. 6 months later, he started to
complain of right shoulder pain with numbness of
the right thumb. The last 3 months dramatic
deterioration of the condition and feeling of
weak right upper limb. The patient performed MRI
cervical spine 06-January-2018 showing extruded
disc C4-5 with right upward migration.
On examination; the patient has weak extension of the right hand flexion -4/5, extension hands -4/5
and right triceps 4/5.
The patient was sent for investigation and
dynamic
studies were normal.
Discectomy C4-5 until the dura was seen at both
sides. ON PLUS (EOS) Cervical
bladed cage 14x17 H6 with IN'OSS 2x0.5 ml inserted to C4-5 level. Routine closure of the
wound.
Smooth postoperative
recovery. The power of the right upper limb improved
dramatically. He was sent to the ward.
Comments
The patient has an extruded disc
which is not subsiding. Surgical decompression is the only
solution.
