12-SEPTEMBER-2013 MUHAMED HMOUD AL-HINDAWANA 94 YEARS SUBDURAL
HYGROMA RIGHT CEREBRAL CONVEXITY.
Anamnesis
The patient was admitted to Emergency Shmaisani
hospital transferred from Yemen Arab Republic
with history of head injury. CT-scan done
23-August-2013 showing almost normal finding.
The patient continued to complain of headache
and CT-scan done 10-September-2013 showed
subdural hygroma right cerebral convexity.
On examination: the patient was alert obeying
commands. He has left sided hemiparesis.
One burr hole was done over the right frontal
area and the other over the right parietal are.
The hygroma came freely from the parietal burr
hole with high pressure. The hygroma was CSF
like consistency with xanthochromic appearance.
The external drain was inserted from the
parietal region.
Smooth postoperative
recovery. The patient was sent to the ICU. He
was agitated.
Comments
The patient has progressing subdural hygroma.
Evacuation was the only solution in this case.
