EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 21-October-2018
complaining of right shoulder pain for 45 days
with subsequent neck pain and numbness of the
thumb right hand. The patient came to me 10
years ago for epileptic attacks and Depakine
chrono was prescribed to him and he was under
control.
The patient had neck pain when looking up and
down. There was weak grip, extension of the
right hand and right triceps 4/5. He was sent
for investigation.
MRI cervical performed 22-October-2018 showing
bulge C4-5 and extruded disc C5-6 with right
foraminal occlusion. Other investigations were
normal.
Discectomy of C5-6 with removal
of the extrusion at the right corner of the field
until the dura was seen all over. Insertion of
OSIMPLANT cervical bladed cage 13x15 H6 with IN'OSS
bone graft. Routine water-tight closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of the right upper limb normalized. He was sent to the ward.
Comments
The recurrence in cervical discectomy is
zero. In rare cases when the patient progress OPLL, the
mentioned pathology could progress, masking the picture of
recurrence after long period of time.
