Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 28-July-2007
complaining of LBP for 5 years with left
sciatica for 2 months with numbness.
On examination SLRS was 80 degrees in the right
side and 70 degrees in the left with pain with
weak dorsiflexion all toes left foot and
scoliotic stance. MRI performed 29-July-2007
showing PLD L4-5 with left downward migration.
Left L4-5 hemiflavotomy with foraminotomy of
left L5 root was performed. The extruded disc
was removed lateral to the axilla. Meticulous
cleaning of the extrusion and the disc space
from the left side. Routine closure.
Smooth postoperative recovery and normalization
of the power of the left lower limb.
Comments
The patient had osteoporotic spinous
processii and they were movable. This could be to bad habits to
go seek treatment with charlatans, who could surprise you during
surgery with such unexpected findings. The relatives and the
patient usually try not to inform the neurosurgeon about such
events.
